Community Design Patents are the new area in which the 35 Community Design Patent Attorneys of Modiano are able to devote to the clients the most experienced assistance. In fact, OHIM in Alicante will be the Community Office responsible for the filing and granting of the new Community Design Patents. Over 50 years of experience in filing designs throughout most European and non-European Countries (like the U.S., Japan, Korea, Australia, etc.), including the experience acquired in the International Registration of Designs under the Hague Agreement to which many European and non-European Countries still belong, have enabled Modiano to get familiar not only with the many peculiarities of the new European Union Design Law and its Implementing Regulation, but also to be able to offer valuable opinion about how wide the scope is of such Community Designs or, for that matter, of national designs in most European and non European Countries. Modiano's Alicante office and its attorneys are available for interviews with the OHIM Examiners on formal aspects and for discussing nullity actions. Many of such designs require a graphic illustration which is hard to achieve with the Computer Assisted Design tools or with photographic representation. Two members of Modiano, Fosco Manuelli and Liliana Soffientini are also active as artists (painters) and take pride in preparing artistic unrivaled presentations of the most fantasy characterized designs, a key to success in both prosecution and defense of the designs.
