Eleonora is a member of our foreign trademark department.
She has considerable experience in filing trademark applications before the European Union Intellectual Property Office, the World Intellectual Property Organization, and foreign Trademark Offices.
Eleonora assists clients right from the preliminary stages of filing: she analyzes and studies clients' portfolios, assesses the registrability of the proposed trademarks, provides suggestions and identifies points for improvement, and defines the feasible filing strategies and details of the protection to be conferred on the trademarks.
Over the years she has perfected national classifications down to a science, with a particular focus to countries in the Middle East, and she provides expert detailed advice on drawing up tailored lists of goods and services which take account of the client's specific requirements while also navigating the peculiarities of the local trademark laws.
She also works in the prosecution and maintenance of trademark rights before the European Union Intellectual Property Office and the World Intellectual Property Organization.
Eleonora assists clients in many different sectors, including goldsmiths, cosmetics, agrifood, winemaking, fashion, furnishings, e-commerce, healthcare, and services to companies and to individuals. Her clients range from multinational corporations to small and medium-sized enterprises, and include start-ups, private individuals, bodies and associations, both foreign and domestic.
Eleonora graduated from university with a thesis titled “The rights of migrants in Europe. The Portuguese case between European regulations and the different system favoring the CPLP (Community of Portuguese Language Countries)”
Prior to joining Modiano & Partners, Eleonora worked at the European Center for Global Interdependence and Solidarity (North-South Center) of the Council of Europe, headquartered Lisbon.
