Francesca is a member of our department for managing changes in ownership of intellectual property rights.
Her practice is protecting IP rights portfolios for clients during sales, transfers of shares of ownership, company mergers, business arm transfers, corporate changes, licenses for use, liens, seizures, and co-ownership situations. In addition, she is an expert in transactions involving intellectual property titles, both nationally and worldwide.
She has solid experience in analyzing and managing all procedures for transferring trademarks, patents and designs.
Francesca provides preliminary advice on defining the best strategies in the event of transfers of ownership and changes in ownership, she assists clients in negotiations between parties and in reaching agreements on the sale or purchase of intellectual property titles, and she advises clients on exclusive and non-exclusive licensing agreements.
She also assists with drafting deeds of transfer and the necessary contracts pursuant to national, EU and international legislation.
In due diligence, she works with specialist law firms to obtain a precise analysis of ownership status and verification that the rights are free from encumbrance.
Francesca coordinates and manages the registration of transactions and company changes with the national and foreign Trademark and Patent Offices, the European Union Intellectual Property Office, the World Intellectual Property Organization, the European Patent Office, as well as directly with the US Patent and Trademark Office.
Over the years she has given advice to physical persons, inventors, and small and medium clients, and also to large multinational companies, research centers and universities, associations, law firms, notaries and accountants, and banks, fulfilling the specific requirements of each type of client with attention and care.
Francesca graduated from university with a thesis titled “The evolution of criteria for civil responsibility in the Anglo-American area”.
