Maria Grazia is a member of our litigation department. She offers advice on infringement, unfair competition and, in general, in out-of-court disputes in intellectual property.
Her practice includes providing opinions on the infringement of trademarks and industrial models, drafting searches and availability analyses of trademarks, providing pre-filing advice and optimizing strategies for filing, defending and prosecuting national and foreign trademarks, providing trademark validity and adoptability opinions, and handling disputes relating to trademarks and industrial models.
She also assists clients in the acquisition, maintenance and control of intellectual property rights, at national and international level.
Maria Grazia assists national and foreign clients with coordinating trademark lawsuits for clients in Europe, Asia and the USA, working closely with local counsel and with expertise in local regulations.
Her skills include dealing with the Italian trademark office for office actions to refuse trademarks, active and passive trademark oppositions, appeals for national and foreign clients, active and passive invalidity actions for industrial models at European level, and out-of-court settlements to disputes through negotiation aimed at reaching settlement agreements and coexistence agreements. Maria Grazia also assists clients with licensing, distribution, confidentiality and settlement agreements in general.
She also has experience in European competition law, national unfair competition law and copyright law.
She manages IP portfolios for large companies operating in a wide range of sectors, including fashion, design, automotive, food, health, and also for small and medium enterprises.
Maria Grazia graduated from university in law with a thesis titled "De Aequitate".
Prior to joining Modiano & Partners, Maria Grazia completed her law apprenticeship with a law firm specializing in private and commercial law.
