Serena is a member of our foreign trademark department. She assists clients with prosecuting applications to file trademarks at Patent and Trademark Offices throughout the world.
Her approach with clients comprises a first stage of preliminary analysis of the specific requirements of that client: Serena provides tailored advice and proposes the best filing strategy based on the identified needs and on the client's interests, in terms both of the extent of territorial protection and of the goods and services to be protected, and gives an initial opinion on the trademark, identifying any areas for improvement.
In a second stage, she assists clients in drawing up the list of goods and services to be protected by the trademark, and suggests filing strategies to comply with the local laws of each country of interest.
Serena also has experience and skills in analyzing clients' trademark portfolios and in assessing the need for any additions to ensure the best possible protection of the clients' trademarks.
She works equally with national and international clients, be they multinational corporations, small and medium enterprises, startups or sole traders, active in any economic sector including manufacturing, food, fashion and furnishings, not forgetting advanced technologies and publishing, both traditional and digital.
Serena graduated from university with a thesis titled “The question of the temporal power of bishops in England and the outbreak of the English revolution 1638-1642”.
