Giorgio Gardenghi

Patent and trademark attorney

Giorgio works mainly in patents. His practice includes filing applications for patents for inventions and utility models, setting up the best protection strategy based on the needs of the client and taking account of the background art.

He assists clients in the subsequent step of examination, in particular drafting replies to the Italian and European Patent Offices.

He has vast experience of all aspects of the filing and examination of applications for designs and trademarks.

Giorgio also accompanies the client in protecting their intellectual property rights portfolio and in conflicts between patent rights and potentially interfering products: he has long experience in drafting clearance and validity opinions, as well as assisting in out-of-court matters and in lawsuits, where he can also draw on his experience as a court-appointed Technical Expert.

Over the course of his career, he has also explored many other areas in the intellectual property world, including the drafting of agreements and licenses, due diligence, the evaluation of patents and trademarks, recordals, and annotations.

Giorgio assists clients of all sizes that operate in the most wide-ranging sectors, including mechanics, electrotechnical engineering, electrochemistry and computing, in particular in biomedicine, in the automotive industry (farming machinery, telescopic reach handlers, aerial platforms, accessories for vehicles in general), in orthodontics, in luggage, in industrial automation (in the "tissue" sector and food grading, in particular), in materials surface coating techniques (electroplating and PVD coating), in welding machines, and in air conditioning.

Giorgio graduated from university with a thesis titled "Verifying a code for the dynamic simulation of spatial manipulators and enhancing the trajectory generation module".

Prior to joining Modiano & Partners, Giorgio completed his university studies with an MBA and studied corporate dynamics, working first as manager of ongoing improvement in a manufacturing company and later as a consultant in lean work organizations.
