Michele Rubbini

Patent and trademark attorney
Michele works mainly with national and foreign patents and models.

He assists clients with presenting and prosecuting their patent applications and with managing their patent portfolios. His practice also includes patent searches, non-infringement and validity opinions, handling out-of-court matters and litigation before national courts, and developing intellectual property management and exploitation strategies. 

Michele also assists clients with licensing, distribution, confidentiality and settlement agreements in general. 

He is often involved in litigation in a technical/legal capacity, either on behalf of the parties involved or appointed by the court, relating to lawsuits and appeals relating predominantly to patents, registered designs, and unfair competition.

For some clients, Michele manages the entire intellectual property package, also handling trademarks and managing confidential information, know-how, and copyright matters.

He assists clients in the sectors of electrical, mechanical and electronic engineering, electromedical devices, automation, packaging, plant engineering, agriculture, automotive, motorcycles, designer goods and illumination engineering.

His clients include a great many small and medium enterprises, several multinational corporations, and also individual inventors, universities, research institutions and foundations. 

Michele lectures on "Development of intellectual property" as part of the PhD program in Industrial Chemistry at the University of Bologna, for which he was appointed visiting professor at the University of Bologna in 2025.

Michele graduated from university in electrical engineering with a thesis titled “Electrical wiring requirements for dental surgeries".

Prior to joining Modiano & Partners, Michele worked in product design and management for a major manufacturer of lighting. He has authored many technical analysis articles about equipment, and he contributes as a technical reviewer for a number of sports magazines.
