Kevin Cranman

US client liaison
Kevin handles the firm's US client portfolio and manages the firm’s relationships with client companies, law firms, research institutions, inventors, and others. He establishes, manages and enhances relations with US clients and US law firms to help them with their European IP needs. His primary role is to assist the firm's US clients and colleagues to navigate the European patent and TM systems strategically and efficiently.

A qualified US lawyer, Kevin was formerly General Counsel (Americas) at Tandberg Television and Ericsson Television and then Senior Group Legal Counsel for Ericsson; Director of Legal Affairs and IP management at Panasonic Mobile Communications; in a business role at the BellSouth (now AT&T) IP group; lead legal counsel and Board Secretary at Glenayre Electronics; in-house counsel at ProAct Technologies and at the Georgia Institute of Technology.  While in law school at the University of Georgia, he served as a research assistant.

In all of his roles, Kevin helped protect, grow, and manage IP assets and portfolios; increase IP value; and has managed a variety of IP disputes, including patent litigation, non-practicing entities, and indemnity matters.  A frequent speaker on protecting and monetizing IP assets, Kevin has helped his clients and others engage the entire corporate enterprise (employees, suppliers, contractors, and others) to be growth conduits for IP and its valuable impact as a strategic asset on the bottom line.

In the professional and broader community, Kevin has been active in the Atlanta IP Inn of Court (Executive Committee since 2013; President / Chair in 2020-2021); the Georgia IP Alliance (GIPA) (Board Member since 2019) and work with the USIPA; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion work for the American Inns of Court and the Atlanta IP Inn of Court; and a Board Trustee and Secretary for his children’s school.
